  • FCoE

    Hello,
recently I have installed in my lab VCSA 8 and ESXi 6.7/ESXi 8 and I’d like to test software adapter FCoE.

Is it possible to do this with Quantastor 6 without any HBA just like with iSCSI?

    Hello,

I do not think it is possible to create a virtual FCoE adapter in QuantaStor today, but we can look into it for you. Can you provide some more information on what you are trying to test?

      Hello,
I just wanted to test software FCoE versus software iSCSI, which solution is better. I don't have hardware FC so it seemd a good experience.

        Hello,

We do not have the ability today to create FCoE adapters in QuantaStor. We recommend using iSCSI with multiple subnets.

              Hello,
in previous post you mentioned that instead of FCoE iSCSI can be used, my question is, what is that? There is something like FC Initiator.

Yes, we support FC clients that have an WWPN number, but we cannot create a virtual FC adapter in QuantaStor to connect to FC devices.
