Installation setups from repository with clean Ubuntu

I recently attempted a fresh bare metal install using the latest version 6 Quantastor and ran into errors. The hardware is an HP Proliant ML310e Gen8 v2. I was using the iLO virtual console along with a bootable USB for the install. When the install media booted and I selected the install option, the iLO keyboard stopped working. I've never had this happen before, I had to use a physical keyboard for input, but the install completed.
Finally after the first reboot, the OS failed to load. Because of these issues, I'd like to see the instructions for installing the QuantaStore packages from repository on a clean Ubuntu LTS install.

Can you provide the md5sum of the ISO you used? Was this the 6.0.6 ISO you used?

I will speak with the team regarding installing QuantaStor on a clean Ubuntu LTS install.

Yes, it was the 6.0.6 ISO. Here's the Hash of the file that I used, created the USB with Rufus.

Hello. I've spoken with the team. That md5sum matches.

According to the team, they believe that HPE only provides pre-OS enablement of the virtual console with a basic iLO license. If it's a system with a dedicated graphics card, then the iLO may have an issue with that. Do you have the advanced iLO license for your system? If you can share more information on the USB stick you're using, so we can try on our HPE servers in the lab. Any additional information you can provide will be really appreciated.

Thanks for checking the hash. I definitely have an Advanced iLO licensed applied, as I've used the virtual console countless times before. The USB that I used for the ISO is a SanDisk Extreme CZ80 64GB (it's decent). This system does not have a dedicated graphics card or even an integrated graphics for that matter.
For what it's worth, I had a saved QuantaStor of v5.12.7. I used the same USB to install on the same system. During the install the iLO virtual console worked as expected (with keyboard input) and the install was successful. Interestingly enough, even though I used the v5.12.7 media the console is showing it at version 6.0.6 currently.

I tried v6.0.6 media twice without success though.

I'd still like to know the steps for installing QuantaStor from repository on a clean Ubuntu install. I found the documentation for CentOS, but I prefer Ubuntu instead.

I have spoken with the team. We're glad to hear the older ISO worked for you. The reason why 6.0.6 was installed was because we weren't pinning packages at that point. I'd recommend following our upgrade steps at https://wiki.osnexus.com/index.php?t...e_Instructions as you may encounter some issues with mismatched packages.

As for bare metal Ubuntu support. This is on the roadmap, but no confirmed date yet.
