Community Forum > Free up space on root volume

Quantastor noobie here. One of our quantastors is always at 100% full on the root volume. I have tried clearing out some log files but this barely makes a dent and we're always running at 100% or just below. What are some files that I can delete? Our / is 3.9G used of 4.2G total size.

After taking a look at our default install size, I can see that 3.9G is the initial size, meaning you will not be able to get below this number. Ultimately, you will need to upgrade the size of your boot drive to something larger if you want reasonable space for growth on the root drive.

A fresh install shows:
Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on
/dev/sda1 17G 3.9G 12G 25% /

Best Regards

Thanks for your reply. As this is an ubuntu system underneath we tried some cleanup on the o/s level but like you said, 3.9GB initial size doesn't give us much room to work with.
